Vodafone Egypt has been named a Runner-Up in the prestigious 2025 Gartner Eye on Innovation Awards for Communication Service Providers. The award recognizes the company’s pioneering work in network resilience, specifically through its proprietary AI-powered solution, the Multi-Radio Access Technology (MRAT) Availability Booster.

The Gartner Eye on Innovation Awards celebrate telecommunications operators that push the boundaries of operational and technological excellence. Vodafone Egypt was singled out for its ability to maintain service continuity at scale, even during significant external disruptions such as power outages.

The MRAT Availability Booster leverages advanced artificial intelligence to transform how networks are managed. Rather than responding to failures after they occur, the system uses predictive mechanisms to identify potential coverage issues and “self-heal” the network before customers experience a lapse in service.

The strategic importance of this technology is underscored by its originality; Vodafone Egypt has officially filed and obtained a UK patent for the MRAT Availability Booster. This proprietary technology ensures that the network remains robust, providing what the company describes as “double the connectivity” through its resilient infrastructure.

“This recognition from Gartner reinforces our commitment to building predictive, preventive, and self-healing network capabilities,” said Catalin Buliga, Technology Director at Vodafone Egypt. “Through the MRAT Availability Booster, our AI-driven innovation helps protect service continuity and keep customers connected when it matters most. With the UK patent and this Gartner recognition, Vodafone Egypt continues to raise the bar for future-ready networks.”

This latest accolade rounds out a successful 2025 for Vodafone Egypt, which has already garnered multiple industry awards for both network excellence and workplace leadership. The Gartner recognition further cements the company’s status as a global leader in applying AI to real-world infrastructure challenges.

By integrating AI into the core of its operations, Vodafone Egypt is not only reducing downtime but also setting a new benchmark for how telecom providers in emerging markets can utilize home-grown technology to achieve world-class reliability.
