Basil Rahmi, CEO of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, said on Tuesday that participating in foreign exhibitions is aligned with Egypt’s strategy to enhance economic and trade ties with Arab and African countries.
Rahmi highlighted the agency’s ongoing efforts to involve its clients in various local and international exhibitions that allow businesses to market their products directly to consumers or secure export deals, as well as to understand market needs and adapt their offerings accordingly.
He has made it clear that such participation boosts growth of Egypt’s exports, pointing out that local small enterprises, handicrafts, and heritage products have significant export potential in Arab and African markets.
Rahmisaid promotion of local products through these exhibitions supports project sustainability, growth, and job creation.
The official urged young entrepreneurs to focus on productive projects, especially in industrial and craft sectors, as international markets offer promising opportunities for distinctive and competitive Egyptian products.
Notably, in June and July, numerous youths from the Enterprise Development Agency, in collaboration with the Egyptian Exhibition and Convention Authority, took part in the 55th Algiers International Fair in Algeria and the Dar es Salaam International Fair in Tanzania.
The Egyptian pavilion won an award for the best international pavilion at the Dar es Salaam fair.
