The Egyptian Food Export Council said the country’s food industry sector achieved a new record during the first eleven months of 2025 with exports surpassing $6.339 billion compared to approximately $5.632 billion during the same period in 2024, marking a 13% growth.

The council said this exceptional performance reflects the growing importance of the food industry as one of the key drivers of growth in Egypt’s non-petroleum exports.

Food exports account for around 14% of total non-petroleum exports and rank third among the country’s main export sectors.

The council also emphasized the steady monthly performance throughout 2025, showing clear dynamics and a balanced distribution of exports across the year.

Exports began strongly in January, reaching $530 million, up from $479 million in January 2024, representing an 11% growth and an increase of $51 million.

In February, exports slightly declined to $532 million, compared to $543 million in the same month of the previous year, a 2% decrease. March followed a similar pattern, recording $578 million in exports, down 2% from $592 million.

In the second quarter of the year, exports jumped to dlrs 627 million in April compared to dlrs 534 million in the corresponding period last year, marking a 17 percent growth.

Exports continued the upward trend in May to reach dlrs 634 million while in June they stood at dlrs 505 million.

In the third quarter, exports recorded $627 million in July, compared with $564 million a year earlier, reflecting 11% growth and an increase of $63 million. Strong performance continued in August, with exports reaching $558 million, up from $500 million, an increase of $87 million and 17% growth, while September exports rose to $540 million from $462 million, up $78 million and 17% growth.

In October, the sector maintained its strong performance, with exports rising to $615 million, compared with $493 million in October 2024, representing 25% growth and an increase of $122 million. The period concluded with an exceptional performance in November, as exports climbed to $562 million, up from $438 million in November 2024, an increase of $123 million and 28% growth.

As a result, total exports for the first eleven months of the year reached $6.339 billion, the highest level on record for the sector over this period.
