WaffarX, Egypt’s leading fintech cashback solution, has participated as the Official Cashback Partner at RiseUp Summit 2025, held from May 8–10 at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). The strategic partnership underscores WaffarX’s commitment to revolutionising the fintech landscape in Egypt through empowering consumers, accelerating digital adoption, and reimagining financial experiences through seamless cashback rewards.

Held under the theme “Experience Matters,” this year’s RiseUp Summit convened thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, creatives, and tech leaders. As the event’s Official Cashback Partner, WaffarX delivered real-time value to attendees through an integrated presence that highlighted how consumer-focused fintech can influence everyday spending behavior. Throughout the summit, WaffarX rolled out exclusive cashback offers, including 5% cashback on all ticket purchases, food court spending, and bazaar transactions, encouraging digital engagement while providing attendees with immediate, tangible savings.

Over the course of the three-day summit, WaffarX successfully onboarded over 900 new users, who collectively received approximately EGP 125,000 in cashback rewards. In addition, the platform distributed nearly EGP 113,000 in sign-up bonuses to help new users kick start their savings journey. On the ground, the WaffarX booth drew high engagement with interactive games, live interviews, and instant prize activations, awarding a total of EGP 80,000 to attendees, further reinforcing the brand’s commitment to delivering real-time value and memorable experiences. Notably, many visitors showed strong interest in WaffarX’s cashback on gas feature, a timely and relevant benefit given the current rise in fuel prices.

Ezz Fayek, CEO of WaffarX, commented: “RiseUp 2025 was the perfect moment to show how cashback can create real everyday value for people. WaffarX is not just reshaping how Egyptians shop, we’re making rewards more accessible, integrated, and impactful in people’s daily lives.”

Abdelhameed Sharara, Founder and CEO of RiseUp, added: “With WaffarX as our official cashback partner, we were able to give every attendee a tangible benefit and real cashback on their spending throughout the summit. It’s a simple, smart layer that adds real value to the RiseUp experience, both on the ground and beyond the event.

Building on its momentum, WaffarX has demonstrated strong traction in Egypt’s consumer fintech landscape. In the first quarter of 2025, the platform recorded a 32% increase in registered users, processed over 150,000 transactions, and reached EGP 327 million in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), signaling growing user adoption and sustained operational scalability.

Moreover, WaffarX’s growth trajectory has attracted significant backing from both global and regional investors. In a multi-million-dollar funding round, the company secured investment from U.S.-based Lobby Capital, co-founded by the former CEO of Rakuten Rewards (Ebates), a pioneer in global cashback solutions. This round also saw participation from existing investors, reflecting strong confidence in WaffarX’s potential to lead the MENA region’s cashback revolution.

With its successful participation in RiseUp Summit 2025, WaffarX solidifies its position as a transformative fintech innovator, redefining how Egyptians shop, save, and spend through the power of smart, digital cashback.
