CAIRO – Egypt’s exports to Belgium registered $661.3 million in 2022, compared with $443.9 million in 2021, marking an increase of 49%, announced the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
In a statement released on Thursday, CAPMAS stated that Egypt’s imports from Belgium hit $1.2 billion in 2022, compared with $1.9 billion in 2021, going down by 34.8%.
The agency stated that trade exchange between Egypt and Belgium dropped by 18.7%, hitting $1.9 billion in 2022, versus $2.3 billion in 2021.
It added that Belgium’s total investments in Egypt hit $547.3 million in the fiscal year (FY) 2021/2022, compared to $246.8 million in the fiscal year 2020/2021, marking an increase of 121.8%.
CAPMAS pointed out that the total remittances of Egyptians working in Belgium stood at $28.2 million in the FY 2020/2021, against $26.3 million in the FY 2019/2020.
