Innovating for a low-carbon society
One important step towards a carbon-neutral future is power and air supply solutions that curb or even eliminate CO2 emissions.
We’re taking several initiatives to reduce our carbon impact in our operations: sourcing green energy, solar panels, low energy lights, and reducing waste and water consumption are just a few of them.
Sustainability is something we breathe through our complete process, from the moment we design a new product through the production and sourcing process and ultimately in the delivery and operation of our products at our customers’ sites.
Energy recovery & efficiency
Compressed air is used in almost all industries. In fact, it is often called the “fourth utility” because of its tremendous importance to millions of businesses.
To achieve efficiency in all aspects, we have developed central controllers with advanced algorithms ensuring that all compressors are used in the most optimal situation depending on the customer’s needs at any given point of time. And our SMARTLINK connectivity platform provides our customers insights on the performance of their installation and makes recommendations to improve its energy efficiency and CO2 reduction.
Breakthrough innovation in air treatment and gas generation reduces the cost of quality compressed air and gases and significantly reduces CO2. Our Cerades desiccant is a nice example of such a breakthrough innovation. When air is compressed, heat is produced. Our energy recovery solutions recover more than 90% of this heat, which can be re-used in the customer’s production process as hot air, water or steam.
In addition, to our energy-efficient variable speed drive compressors which can reduce energy consumption by up to 60%.

From sun to site
The latest light tower from Atlas Copco Power and Flow uses solar radiation as an energy source, providing silent and cleaner operations. The light tower enables users to reduce CO2 emissions by up to six tons compared with traditional technologies, giving workers good visibility while allowing sites to increase their sustainability and comply with zero CO2 emission and noise regulations.
Social Responsibility
“Water for All” is our main community engagement initiative that supports communities with limited access to clean water, to prevent acute health risks and help people build a better future.
“Water for All” funds projects which empower people through access to clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene. Since 1984 we have reached millions of people all over the world and there are local Water for All organisations in more than 50 countries.
“Water for All” in Egypt has started in 2018 by volunteering employees believing that water is a human right and managed to deliver clean drinking water to thousands of people in remote villages in upper Egypt.
