In light of recent regional developments following U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a two‑week suspension of military operations in the region, Egypt emphasised in a Foreign Ministry statement that the situation in Lebanon remains critical. Cairo stressed that the suspension must translate into Israel’s immediate cessation of repeated attacks on Lebanon, safeguarding its sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and creating conditions for the safe and dignified return of displaced persons.
Egypt reaffirmed its full support and solidarity with Lebanese government and people during this sensitive period, underscoring its commitment to strengthening Lebanon’s ability to overcome current challenges and consolidate security and stability.
