Egypt and Saudi Arabia are the pulse of the Arab nation. They are the cornerstone for stability in the region. The solidarity and communication between both countries are vital for meeting the challenges that beset the region.

In light of this, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi recently visited Jeddah, where he was received by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. President Sisi’s visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has come at an extremely important time when there is urgent need to discuss the issues affecting the region.

The depth of historical and brotherly relations between both countries induce them to work together to examine the challenges at the regional and international level –from the fallout of the crisis in Ukraine to the escalation of violence in the occupied Palestinian territories and events in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Sudan.

Following the breakout of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, from which the repercussions have made considerable changes at international level, a new political and economic world order, which includes the Arab states, is now looming on the horizon.

Moreover, co-ordination and consultation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia have become necessary to find solutions to these issues.

The meeting between President Sisi and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman has not only rests on the long-standing ties between the two countries but also embodies the future of relations, since both believe that the coming period will require intensive co-ordination to forge a joint vision of stability in the whole Arab  region.

The meeting has also come ahead of the Arab Summit due next May in Riyadh and its agenda will focus on the need for the return of Arab Solidarity. The forthcoming summit requires consultations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia regarding regional developments and the issues that to be discussed at the summit.

President Sisi’s visit to Saudi Arabia is considered a turning point for strengthening the strategic ties between the two countries.

Since President Sisi took office in 2014, he has been keen to strengthen co-operation with the kingdom and conduct continual consultations with its leader, believing in the important role of Saudi Arabia for Egypt in particular and Arabs in general.

At the economic level, Cairo and Riyadh have presented a unique model in leading welfare, development and construction projects for the benefit of their peoples and those of the whole region, despite the forces of evil that are hell bent on chaos and destruction.

Both countries have also managed through their development visions to present a pioneering example in achieving comprehensive development. We can all see the size of giant projects being implemented in both countries for the service of their peoples.

The continuous Egyptian-Saudi coordination has led to overcoming the challenges of the most dangerous phase for the Arab region, i.e. the Arab Spring. Both countries have worked together to preserve the stability of the region by combating attempts and thwarting plots to bring strife and destroy national unity in the region.

Indeed, Egypt and Saudi Arab are the pulse of the Arab nation in a rapidly changing world. No Arab individual can imagine the future of the Arab region without the unity of Cairo and Riyadh, whose relations have always been, and always will be solid and based on mutual respect.
