Egypt’s Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates affairs Soha Gendi stressed that Egypt is capable of confronting all challenges by innovative ideas, despite the current international crisis.
She made the remarks during a video-conference meeting with a number of Egyptian expats in Sweden, Denmark and Lithuania under the initiative of “an hour with the minister”, according to a statement issued by the ministry of Tuesday.
She said 60 percent of Egyptian population are youths, therefore Egypt can confront all challenges with innovative ideas.
Despite the current international crisis, Egypt is mulling the best way to overcome the crisis via several plans and scenarios aiming at proceeding with achievements.
She underlined the political leadership’s keenness on catering for requests of Egyptians abroad.
During the meeting, she reviewed the ministry’s strategy and the initiatives launched, especially an overture for facilitating Egyptian expats’ importation of cars into Egypt for personal use.
She also referred to the presidential initiative of “Life Saving Boats” for combating illegal immigration.
Asked why EgyptAir does not have flights to Sweden or Lithuania, Gendi said she will discuss the issue with the Aviation Ministry.
