ENRRA approves establishing third unit of Dabaa nuclear power plant

The board of the Egyptian Nuclear & Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) approved establishing a third unit of the Dabaa nuclear power plant.

In a statement on Wednesday, ENRRA said talks were held with representatives from the Nuclear Power Plants Authority‎ (NPPA) to review and assess the first two units and prepare for the establishment of the third one.

The authority said it was reassured of the safety of the third unit which will not pose any threat to humans, environment or property.

The authority will follow up on the NPPA efforts to implement the third unit to ensure safety measures, read the statement, adding that this falls within the framework of ongoing efforts to promote the safe use of nuclear technology in various development domains.
