Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa on Monday announced new facilities for obtaining a visa on arrival to Egypt for tourists from Algeria, China, India, Iran, Morocco, Israel and Türkiye.
The minister told a press conference that the new facilities came with the co-operation between the government and the private sector.
Chinese tourists in groups or individually can obtain visas on arrival from Egyptian ports and airports, the minister said, adding that similar applies to Indian and Iraqi citizens if they have Schengen, US or Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) visas.
Iranian tourists will come through tour operators and will be allowed to visit South Sinai.
Israelis, whose period of stay is arranged by a tour group, will be permitted to visit Red Sea resorts and Hurghada.
Regarding Turkish, Moroccan and Algerian tourists, who will be able to obtain visas on arrival, more details will be disclosed soon, Issa added.
This category of visa will cost US$25 and is valid for 30 days.
Details of a new multiple-entry costing US$700 and valid for 5 years at a price of $700 will be announced soon.
