Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Waleed Gamal Eddin received members of a delegation from the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce headed by Mr Nicolas Bakatselos, in discuss means of economic co-operation between the two sides and reviewing the potential of SCZone.

The meeting comes in light of the SCZone’s endeavours to secure more international economic co-operation to maximise resources and promote the advantages the zone offers in terms of location, infrastructure, investment incentives and targeted economic sectors, Gamal Eddin said.

“The SCZone is located on 247 acres with four industrial zones and six seaports on the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea to integrate industrial zones and seaports,” Gamal Eddin added.

“The latest partnership for cooperation in East Port Said port is with the Abu Dhabi Ports Group to establish many projects inside the port. This is in addition to the development work in Sokhna port to turn it into the most important port on the Red Sea,” he said, adding that the zone has 500 acres for a green fuel project.

“The zone is also looking into complementary and feeder industries for the green fuel project,” he said.

“The location of SCZONE near European markets helps accelerate the transition towards green fuel in Europe, and certainly Greece will have a role in transferring green fuel from the zone to European markets,” he added.
