ASWAN, Upper Egypt – Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hany Swelim said Egypt’s High Dam is the greatest engineering project in the 20th century and is one of its vital water facilities, noting that it has helped to protect Egypt from drought and floods over several decades.
In statements during his visit to Aswan governorate to inspect the High Dam facilities and its power station, Swelim said he is keen on following up on work in the various water facilities across the country and check on the levels of water across the dam round the clock.
He also inspected the maintenance works of the High Dam electricity station and met with engineers and workers.
The minister praised the excellent work of the team running the facility and voiced his appreciation for them.
