Chairman of Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHAAN) Mohamed Saeed Mahrous has recently organised a seminar dealing with means to combat illegal migration and prevent human trafficking.
The seminar, held under the directives of Minister of Civil Aviation Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas, was aimed to spread awareness of this dangerous issue among the ministry workers, especially those dealing with passengers.
The participants in the seminar reviewed the national strategy to combat human trafficking and means to protect the most vulnerable groups, especially women and children. They also reviewed the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s efforts and the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) role to limit this phenomenon.
The seminar was held in co-operation and coordination with the National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons (NCCPIMTIP) headed by Ambassador Naila Jabr.
A sizable number of NCCPIMTIP representatives, IOM senior officials, and a number of civil aviation staff attended the event.
