Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Tuesday with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
During the meeting, President Sisi was briefed on the most important outcomes of the recent African Union Summit which wrapped up this week in Addis Ababa, said the spokesman, adding that the summit witnessed an agreement with the Egyptian stances in general especially those regarding the African Peace and Security Council (PSC), the expansion of PSC as well as the level of economic development of the five geographical regions of the continent.
During the summit, Egypt took part in the meeting of the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC) which praised Egypt’s successful hosting of the UN Climate Summit held in Sharm El Sheikh which was crowned with a decision to establish a fund for losses and damage of climate change.
