A workshop for African brothers wrapped up its activities on Thursday.

The event, themed ‘Aviation Safety Management in the Civil Aviation Society’, was organised by the National Air Navigation Services Company (NANSC), in co-operation with the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD), affiliated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas handed over qualification certificates to trainees from African countries, in the presence of EAPD Vice President Ambassador Hassan el-Nashar, Chairman of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, Engineer Mohamed Saeed Mahrous, and head of NANSC Ihab Mohieldin.

During the ceremony, Abbas affirmed his ministry’s keenness to expand co-operation with African countries in various civil aviation activities, especially in training and exchanging experiences.

He pointed out that the workshop was aimed to support African countries in implementing up-to-date safety systems, which are the main pillar for developing air transport industry.

The minister commended major achievements made by the NANSC to establish new efficient air safety programmes, consistent with the policies and regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
