Egypt’s Ambassador to Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Badr Abdel-Ati conferred on Tuesday with a number of senior officials in Luxembourg to discuss a set of files of joint co-operation and means of promoting political, parliamentary, economic and trade ties along with potentials of investment and co-operation in the field of green bonds issuance.
The meetings were held on the fringe of a reception hosted by Grand Duke of Luxembourg Prince Henry to a number of accredited ambassadors to his country.
The Egyptian diplomat first met with President of the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg Fernand Etgen and praised the outstanding relations binding Egypt and Luxembourg in the various fields. Ambassador Abdel-Ati said he is looking forward for further expanding such relations especially in the economic and trade ones as well as the parliamentary relations.
Abdel-Ati also met with Deputy President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Gelsomina Vigliotti and addressed ongoing cooperation between the two sides, projects which are currently being implemented in Egypt especially in the fields of environment, green transition, sustainable development, transport and infrastructure as well as the funding of small and medium-sized projects along with the outcome of the UN Climate Conference (COP27).
The Egyptian diplomat also conferred with Luxembourg Stock Exchange CEO Julie Becker on the existing co-operation in the financial services, issuance of green bonds as well as means of enhancing investment opportunities and bolstering the presence of Luxembourg companies in Egypt.
