CAIRO – The Muslim Council of Elders, under Al-Azhar’s Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb, has strongly condemned the terrorist bombing, which took place outside the Afghan Foreign Ministry in the Afghan capital Kabul, killing and injuring dozens.

In a statement on Friday, the council reiterated its rejection for such terrorist acts that contradict the teachings of moderate Islam, urging to coordinate efforts to uproot terrorism.

The council extended condolences to families of the victims and wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
