Egypt’s mufti, head of Iraqi sunni endowment office discuss enhancing bilateral co-operation

Egypt’s Grand Mufti Shawki Allam discussed with Head of the Iraqi Sunni Endowment Office Mishaan Al-Khazraji ways of boosting religious co-operation between Darul-Ifta and the Sunni Endowment Office.

During the meeting, Allam reviewed ongoing efforts to enhance work mechanisms at the various departments of Darul-Ifta.

Darul-Ifta has been waging a fierce war against extremism since several years, he said, pointing out to the establishment of the Observatory of Takfiri Fatwas and Extremist Views in 2014.

For his part, the Iraqi official underlined the depth of ties binding Egypt and Iraq.

Darul-Ifta is considered among the pioneering foundations for fatwa in the Islamic world, he further said.
