Proceedings to celebrate the International Day of Solidarity With the Palestinian People started on Tuesday at the Arab League (AL)’s premises.
The celebration was attended by AL Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al Maliki and UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt Elena Panova, in addition to a representative from Al-Azhar and the Coptic Church.
A host of Arab and foreign ambassadors along with diplomats and media men attended the celebration.
Following the inaugural session, an exhibition depicting the suffering of the Palestinian people under the Israeli occupation will be opened.
