The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) hosted the 26th meeting of the committee of central banks’ governors of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) member states.
The meeting was attended by governors and representatives of central banks of COMESA member states, including Egypt, Djibouti, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Uganda, Malawi and Zambia, among others.
CBE governor Hassan Abdullah voiced delight with hosting the in-person meeting, where the participants were able to physically show up for the first time since the outbreak of Covid-19.
During the talks, which took place in Thursday, a number of reports on workshops and training programmes were approved, including a training program on challenges facing COMESA central banks.
