ABU DHABI – The volume of non-oil trade exchange between the United Arab Emirates UAE and Egypt during the past 22 years, from 2000 to the end of the first half of this year 2022, amounted to more than 247.68 billion dirhams, with a growth rate at the end of last year 2021 reaching 3635 percent, according to data of the Federal Competitiveness Centre And statistics.
The data, carried by WAM news agency said Emirati-Egyptian economic relations witnessed a qualitative development during 50 years of bilateral cooperation in various fields and sectors and the injection of more quality investments, which culminated this year with the signing of the Integrated Industrial Partnership for sustainable economic development, reflecting the desire of the two countries to launch a major economic breakthrough that enhances their sustainable development process.
The UAE is Egypt’s second largest trading partner at the Arab level, while Egypt is the UAE’s fifth largest Arab trading partner in non-oil intra-regional trade. It accounts for 7 per cent of its total non-oil trade with Arab countries, while the UAE is the largest investor in Egypt at the global level, with a cumulative investment of more than 55 billion dirhams.
