Egypt’s Minister of Housing Essam el-Gazzar yesterday met with representatives from Spain’s DuPont and IETOS companies to probe the latest technologies used across the world for the purification of drinking water and wastewater treatment.
This meeting came during the Minister’s visit to a research centre specialised in developing methods and equipment for desalination and the treatment of wastewater in Barcelona, Spain on Thursday.
During the meeting, representatives from the two companies presented their experience in manufacturing equipment used for water purification systems and waste water treatment.
The Egyptian government is seeking tech-based solutions in the light of state interest in desalination projects to meet the challenges of the rising population and the climate change, the minister said.
The minister also discussed opportunities of co-operation for localising technologies used in this field and the possibility of training for employees.
