CAIRO – The Egyptian cabinet’s media center has denied the reports circulated about a shortage in medicines and medical supplies at public hospitals nationwide.
In a statement released on Friday, the center said it has contacted the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and the Management of Medical Technology (UPA), which dismissed such reports, stressing that there is no shortage in drugs and medical supplies at public hospitals across Egypt’s governorates.
The center urged media outlets and social media users to verify the authenticity of any news and contact the authorities concerned before publishing groundless information that may cause confusion among citizens.
