PM witnesses signing of MoUs to produce green hydrogen in Ain Sokhna Industrial Zone 1 - Egyptian Gazette

The Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli witnessed on Thursday the signing of seven new memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to establish industrial complexes to produce green hydrogen in Ain Sokhna Industrial Zone.

The signing ceremony was attended by Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister Mohamed Shaker and Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala El Said.

The pacts were signed between a number of governmental entities, including the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), the General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and the Sovereign Fund of Egypt from one side and seven companies and international consortiums pioneering in the production of new and renewable energy from the other side.

The MoUs were signed by SCZone’s Chairman Walid Gamal el Din, EETC’s Chairman Sabah Mashali, NREA’s Chairman Mohammed el Khayat and Head of the investment sector at Sovereign Fund of Egypt Abdallah el Ebiary.

The MoUs were also signed by British Globeleq company’s representative Paolo de Michelis, Board Chairman of Saudi Al Fanar Company Sabah al Mutlaq, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of UAE’s Alcazar Energy Daniel Calderon, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates K&K Company Taj el Din Seif, CEO of MEP company Taner Sensoy, CEO of ACME Group Rajat Seksaria and Actis’ regional manager of North Africa and the Middle East Sherif el Khouly.
