CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi pays great attention to youth and is keen on empowering them politically and economically, along with meeting all their needs through the various meetings he holds with them to stand on their views and demands.
In exclusive statements to MENA Sunday, as he was reappointed as minister of youth and sports in the recent Cabinet reshuffle, the minister said thanks to the wise Egyptian leadership, Egypt was able to face up to all challenges that came in the wake of the untoward economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Sobhy referred to a number of initiatives launched to assuage impact of the current economic crisis on Egyptians, citing projects and achievements in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), in line with Egyptian political leadership directives in this respect.
Meantime, he said the NAC Youth Forum that will be organized under the auspices of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli in the New Sports City in the NAC on August 29 is of great importance.
The forum will be attended by as many as 1,500 young people from the ministries, media personnel, reporters and public figures, as well as local institutions, that are work partners with the ministry, the minister said.
The ministry will hold the gathering to keep abreast of changes of the new republic and draw a roadmap of sustainable future for coming generations, Sobhy added.
The event offers an important opportunity for highlighting programs, projects and activities of the different ministries to forward a message that the administrative body is a single entity, according to him.
The forum is the first government bloc in the NAC at the level of ministries, he said. It aims to boost channels of communication between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and other different ministries to serve Egypt’s youth, the minister added.
