Speaker of the Senate (the upper chamber of the Egyptian parliament) Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Razek on Sunday received South Korean Ambassador in Cairo Hong Jin-Wook for parliamentary co-operation talks.
Discussions also covered ways to broaden co-operation in transport, defence, industry, health, trade and cultural heritage.
With reference to the visits of South Korean National Assembly Speaker in October 2021 and Korean President in January this year, the envoy said people-to-people cultural and academic exchange is of utmost importance for sustainable development between Cairo and Seoul.
In this regard,Hong voiced appreciation for the vital role of the Egyptian government in developing relations with South Korea.
Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Razek said that he was looking forward to taking horizons of co-operation with South Korea to new highs, especially in parliamentary field.
The ambassador said he would encourage South Korean companies operating in Egypt to expand their businesses across the country, as the investment climate in Egypt is promising.
Abdel-Razek said that the South Korean companies in Egypt has achieved great success in various fields.
He hoped that more South Korean companies would be encouraged to invest in Egypt.
The government is pressing ahead with all efforts to promote the private sector’s contribution to development in Egypt that would help provide more jobs, realise sustainable economic performance trajectories to meet public needs, improve living standards and services.
The head of the Senate said: “We are keen to create an environment for local and foreign investments to attract investors in various sectors to entrench all-out and sustainable development pillars.”
