CAIRO – Several agreements between the Egyptian and African companies have been signed in areas related to fertilizers, medicine and electricity during the sessions of “Egypt Can with Industry” Conference, said State Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Nabila Makram.

The conference saw the participation of a host of African entrepreneurs in the spheres of trade and industry, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs on Friday.

The African entrepreneurs, who are from Nigeria, Benin, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tunisia, Mauritius, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali and Zambia, attended sessions in the presence of the prime minister together with a host of MPs and businessmen, added the statement.

Several agreements have been reached during the sessions, said the statement, noting that an agreement was reached between a Tanzanian and Egyptian businessmen to export fertilizers to Tanzania, said the statement.

Another agreement has been reached with Engineer Ahmed el Sweidi to start a new project in Zanzibar, added the statement.

Under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the sixth edition of “Egypt Can” conference was launched on March 31, under the title “Egypt Can with Industry”.

The “Egypt Can with Industry” conference, which wrapped up on June 1, came in line with the visions of the Egyptian state, in light of the political leadership’s interest in the industry file, implementing presidential directives to support the state’s strategy in the field of industrial settlement, and maximizing the benefit of Egyptians around the world’s experiences in this field.
