CAIRO – Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea Francisco Pascual Obama Asue asserted his government’s keenness on benefiting from the Egyptian experiment in light of the distinguished political ties between the two countries.
This came during his meeting with Egypt’s Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea Haddad Abdel Tawab el Gohary, in presence of the Secretary General of the Guinean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Ministry said on its Facebook Page.
The Guinean prime minister lauded progress made so far in cooperation between Egypt and Equatorial Guinea, citing the scholarships and training courses provided by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) to trainees from Equatorial Guinea in various fields.
He said his country is looking forward to enhancing cooperation with Egypt in the agricultural and tourism domains in the coming period, inviting Egyptian companies to organise trade fairs in Equatorial Guinea to promote the various Egyptian products there.
For his part, the Egyptian diplomat congratulated the Guinean Prime Minister on the opening of the new expansions at Malabo International Airport, in addition to Equatorial Guinea’s hosting of the Extraordinary African Union (AU) Humanitarian Summit and and Pledging Conference and the Extraordinary Summit on Terrorism and Unconstitutional Changes in Africa, hosted by Malabo from May 22 to 28.
The two sides also reviewed the new areas of cooperation between Egypt and Equatorial Guinea in the field of oil and natural gas, and the implementation of several projects in this field.
Amb. Gohary also underlined Egypt’s enormous capabilities and hands-on experiences in the field of oil and natural gas, as well as in implementing renewable energy projects.
