Egyptian Minister of Housing, Public Utilities and Urban Communities Assem el-Gazzar on Tuesday held a follow-up meeting on the presidential initiative ‘Housing for all Egyptians’ .
Ministry officials and representatives of the New Urban Community Authority and the Social Housing Fund attended the meeting.
‘Housing for all Egyptians’ is one of the leading national projects to provide housing for all income brackets without paying for the cost of land in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The minister stressed the need for a clear timetable for the different phases of the project.
Some 500,000 housing units are to be built in major cities and provincial capitals. Meanwhile, the government has chosen distinguished locations for residential properties in the new cities, assigning the design to major consultancy offices.
