CAIRO – The American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham Egypt) and the United States Chamber of Commerce (USCC) affirmed their unwavering support to the crucial role played by the private sector in Egypt to address climate change.
They also underlined the importance of promoting strong partnership between the private sector and the Egyptian government in this respect.
This came in a statement issued by the AmCham Egypt on Monday on the occasion of a visit by the GreenTech Business delegation to Egypt as part of ongoing arrangements for Egypt’s hosting of the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27).
The private sector should play a vital role in providing effective technological means to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, according to the statement.
The US delegation comprises as many as 40 mega institutions and the US banks, including the USCC, the Export Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).
