CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Saturday Laylat al-Qadr inspires humanity with all the meanings of goodness, blessing, mercy, and the upholding of human ideals and values.

— Abdelfattah Elsisi (@AlsisiOfficial) May 8, 2021

On this sacred occasion, we pray for preserving our dear country, Egypt, and to bless us and the rest of the Islamic nation with goodness, peace and safety, Sisi tweeted.

In Islamic belief, Laylat al-Qadr is the night when the Quran was first sent down from Heaven as the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the prophet Muhammad.
