Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave directives for more coordination and co-operation between the national authorities and the Lacto Misr factory to develop the local production capacity of infant formula, in line with advanced technology in this context, with the aim of building a strong base for the production of the best types of milk and high-quality baby food to cover local needs and bridge the import gap.
The President’s remarks came during his meeting on Thursday with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea, Head of the Armed Forces National Service Projects Authority Walid Abul-Magd and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lacto Misr Ibrahim Ezzat, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the meeting, the President highlighted that this infant milk formula is an important strategic commodity for feeding children at different ages.
The position of the production of infant formula was reviewed by the Lacto Misr company, which owns the largest factory for the production of infant formula in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa, and uses the latest global technological equipment specialised in this field, in addition to its production of special baby foods, supplements and food ingredients.
The company enjoys the highest control procedures over its various products, which guarantee their quality and safety.
