CAIRO – EgyptAir on Monday resumed its direct flights between Cairo and the Libyan city of Benghazi after an 11-year hiatus due to the deteriorating security situation.
The national carrier will operate a daily direct flight between Cairo and Benghazi on Boeing B737-800.
In statements on Monday, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EgyptAir Holding Company Amr Abu Elenien said the national carrier is attaching special important to strategic destinations including Benghazi city in Libya especially with the presence of a number of Egyptians there.
He also said the moves aims at enhancing the trade and economic exchange between the two countries.
