CAIRO – Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said that the government is working on boosting the safety of tourist facilities and destinations and improving their performance.

The government is also working on many development and service projects in the Red Sea and North Sinai governorates to increase tourist arrivals from all over the world, Madbouli added during the cabinet weekly meeting on Wednesday.

Madbouli initiated the meeting by extending his greetings to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and all Egyptians on the 39th anniversary of Sinai Liberation Day, Labor Day, Easter and Sham El-Nessim holiday.

He also cited a recent phone a call between President Sisi and Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, during which the two leaders agreed to resume air traffic between both countries, which will play a remarkable role in facilitating the movement of people and resuming the flow of Russian tourists to Egypt.

Meanwhile, the premier reiterated that the national program for structural reforms whose 2nd phase was launched on Tuesday seeks to achieve positive growth, while working for enhancing social protection systems.

Touching upon the government’s anti-coronavirus efforts, Madbouli said that cooperation is underway with relevant international bodies for procuring the largest amount possible of various Covid-19 vaccines as part of a government plan to inoculate as many people as possible to keep infection rates under control.

Madbouli also reaffirmed the need continue applying all preventive public health measures, especially in light of the rapid surge in infections recently.
