CAIRO – Angolan Foreign Affairs Minister Téte António hailed Egypt’s leading role to support peace and stability in Africa as well as its leadership to enhance joint African action under the umbrella of the African Union.

This came during his visit to the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA) where he delivered a lecture on Egypt’s supportive stances to Angola before and after its independence.

In a post on Facebook  according to MENA, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said that António talked about his country’s expertise in the peace-building and maintaining stability in the southern Africa region as he remembered when he participated in a program held by the CCCPA 30 years ago that tackled building the diplomatic cadres’ capabilities in the African countries.

The lecture was also attended by a number of public figures, diplomats, members of parliament, academics, experts and media figures specialized in African affairs.

During the visit, Head of CCCPA Ambassador Walid Hagag welcomed António and expressed the center’s keenness on holding such an event. He also voiced the center’s readiness to cooperate with Angola in the field of diplomatic training and building capabilities.
