Egypt’s sports minister attends signing of protocol between FINA, ANOCA

CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi has attended the signing ceremony of a cooperation protocol between the International Swimming Federation (FINA), led by Husain Musallam and the Association of the National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), led by Mustapha Berraf.

The protocol is aimed at upgrading water games in the African continent, obligating the two sides to implement a program for developing and supporting all member African national federations of FINA and ANOCA affiliated national Olympic committees.

The protocol calls for granting scholarships to athletes and holding training camps and offering training programmes to the trainers.

The agreement also stipulates establishing FINA development centers in Africa.

The sports minister asserted his keenness to support and develop swimming in Egypt and to ensure attaining relevant achievements at various events.
