The Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology have jointly launched a new “Remote General Litigation Power of Attorney” service on the Digital Egypt platform.
The service allows citizens to issue official litigation powers of attorney entirely online using a digital identity application. Once processed, the document is delivered to the citizen through Egypt Post.
The system uses advanced digital identity verification to authenticate citizens’ identities, eligibility and consent. It also incorporates a certified remote electronic signature system that adheres to the highest cybersecurity standards to protect the confidentiality of personal data.
The initiative is particularly significant given the high demand for notarisation services in Egypt. The general litigation power of attorney alone accounts for an average of 18,000 transactions daily at conventional documentation offices.
