Egypt on Friday strongly condemned an attempt to target the holy city of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah in Saudi Arabia with a ballistic missile.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates voiced its strong condemnation of such attacks, describing them as a “flagrant violation of international law” that threatens regional security and stability, as well as efforts to de-escalate tensions and advance peace.
Egypt reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures the Kingdom may take to safeguard its security, sovereignty, territorial integrity and citizens.
It stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security is closely linked to Egypt’s national security and represents one of the key pillars of stability in the region.
