Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly attended on Thursday thesigning ceremony of a co-operation protocol between the Ministry of Labour, Delivery Hero’s Talabat Egypt and a number of logistics companies contracted by Talabat to provide delivery services.
The agreement aims to formalise the status of delivery workers and extend social and healthcare protection to them by registering them in the ministry’s database of irregular workers, making them eligible for the care and support provided to this category.
The protocol was signed by Al-Shaimaa Kamal, head of the Central Administration for Irregular Employment at the Ministry of Labour; Hadeer Walid Shalaby, Talabat Egypt’s vice-president and managing director, and representatives of the contracted logistics companies. The signing ceremony was attended by Labour Minister Hassan Raddad.
Under the agreement, the ministry will register lists of delivery workers submitted by the logistics companies in dedicated sections of its irregular workers database.
The workers will also be covered by the Emergency Aid and Social and Health Services Fund for Irregular Employment.
The benefits include financial assistance and compensation in cases of work-related death or disability, natural death or disability, the death of a first-degree relative, major and minor surgery, marriage and childbirth, in accordance with the applicable regulations.
The agreement forms part of the ministry’s efforts, following the outcomes of Egypt Forum 2026, to expand its database of irregular workers and increase the number of beneficiaries of social protection and healthcare services.
