The Arab Republic of Egypt has condemned in the strongest terms the recent attack targeting a Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker operating in the waters of the Arabian Gulf.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, Egypt also affirmed it’s complete rejection of such hostilities, defining the assault as a grave breach of international law that directly threatens maritime security and the fundamental right to unhindered global navigation.
In this respect, Egypt expressed it’s steadfast solidarity with the State of Qatar, supporting all measures enacted by Qatari leadership to protect national sovereignty and vital commercial assets.
It also emphasised that strict adherence to international maritime regulations remains imperative to safeguarding stability and ensuring the security of critical international shipping routes.
