Minister of Defence and Military Production Ashraf Salem Zaher received Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik and a delegation of senior Interior Ministry officials.
They extended congratulations to the Armed Forces on the 53rd anniversary of Egypt’s October War victory.
Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa and several senior military commanders attended the meeting.
Tawfik said the October War victory would remain a defining moment in Egypt’s military history and an eternal symbol of the courage and sacrifices of the Armed Forces in liberating Egyptian territory and defending the nation’s dignity.
For his part, Zaher stressed that the Armed Forces and police were the two pillars of Egypt’s security and stability, working together to safeguard the nation and protect its people.
He praised the sacrifices made by military and police personnel, saying they would remain a source of national pride and an inspiration for future generations.
At the end of the meeting, Tawfik presented the Police Authority’s shield to Zaher and Khalifa, while the defence minister presented the Armed Forces’ shield to the interior minister.
