Egypt’s Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk said the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) is a strategic development partner for Egypt, adding that the government looks forward to expanding trade and investment ties with the corporation.
Speaking on Thursday during a meeting with the CEO of ITFC Adeeb Al-Aama on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank meetings in Bangkok, Kouchouk said Egypt was working to link the corporation’s programmes with investment and trade entities operating in the country.
The minister said Egypt seeks to expand programmes that help Egyptian exports reach new markets while increasing exports to existing markets.
He added that the partnership with ITFC had become an important pillar in supporting trade and securing the country’s energy and food needs.
