Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsi and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Saudi Arabia to take part in the World Defense Show, inspected the pavilion of the Korean Corporation of Poongsan, which manufactures non-ferrous metal and defense-related products.

During the tour, Poongsan Corporation President Woo Dong Park welcomed the Egyptian delegation and reviewed the most important products of the company which produces a wide variety of military-purpose ammunition — from 5.56mm ammunition to eight-inch projectiles for Howitzers.

The company has earned a reputation the world over for quality. In fact, most of Poongsan’s sporting and other commercial ammunition are exported to its global customers.

Morsi also briefed the Korean side on the key military products of the ministry including arms, ammunition and other defense-related equipment made by the companies affiliated to the ministry.

Concluding the tour, Military Production Media Adviser Mohamed Eid Bakr said the two sides agreed on exchanging visits and technical expertise in the technological and industrial potentials and agreed on probing the possibility of jointly manufacturing maritime ammunition of 40 mm and 76 mm of all types.
