Egypt’s trade with BRICS countries reached $36.7 billion in the first half of 2026, up 25.5 per cent from $29.3 billion during the same period in 2025.
This is according to recent official data from Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The figures highlight the growing role of BRICS countries in Egypt’s international economic relations, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Egypt’s exports to BRICS countries amounted to $6.6 billion during the first half of 2026.
The UAE was one of the largest destinations, receiving $1.7 billion worth of Egyptian goods.
Exports to India reached $868 million, while China and Brazil accounted for $841 million and $633 million respectively.
Precious stones, jewellery, and related products were Egypt’s leading export category to BRICS markets, valued at $1.2 billion.
