Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif and Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil met on Wednesday to discuss expanding school sports, integrating athletic activities into the educational curriculum, and establishing early talent-scouting mechanisms.
Both ministers highlighted the essential role schools play in holistic student development, stressing the need for an integrated environment where physical activities complement academic studies.
To support this initiative, discussions focused on leveraging youth centers, sports facilities, and playgrounds across all governorates to grant students broader access to diverse sports disciplines.
The co-operation framework includes nationwide training programmes for physical education teachers and joint athletic competitions to spot promising young talent early.
Additionally, the ministers explored establishing specialised applied technology schools dedicated to sports facility and playground maintenance, where students will receive hands-on training under Youth Ministry supervision to qualify for sports management and club operations roles upon graduation.
