Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gomblat and
Uganda’s State Minister for Defence Akifeza, Grace Ngabirano have probed
prospects for cooperation in defence manufacturing.
The two minister met at the Egyptian ministry’s pavilion in the El Alamein
International Air and Space Show (EIAS 2026), on the final day of the event.
Gomblat reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to expanding strategic industrial
partnerships with African countries, in line with presidential directives to strengthen
ties with regional partners.
He also highlighted the ministry’s advanced industrial base, comprising 265
production lines, numerous laboratories and testing centres, and nearly 980 CNC
machines.
The two sides exchanged views on future collaboration, emphasising the potential
for joint projects that leverage technological and manufacturing capabilities to deliver
added value and deepen bilateral relations.
Gomblat welcomed Ugandan technical delegations to visit Egypt’s defence
production facilities to explore opportunities more concretely.
For his part, Ngabirano lauded Egypt’s defence industry progress, noting the
advanced products showcased at the pavilion and expressing her aspiration to build
a strategic partnership in defence manufacturing.
