The premier remarks came during a meeting he had on Monday with Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Dr Hussein Eissa, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Dr Mohamed Farid, and officials from several relevant ministries to follow up on the latest developments regarding efforts to restructure, develop and improve the governance of state-owned enterprises.
During the meeting, the prime minister affirmed the continuation of the government’s privatisation programme through the offering of shares in several state-owned companies, in accordance with the vision and objectives of the State Ownership Policy Document.
This, he noted, aims to facilitate greater participation by private-sector institutions and enhance their role in contributing to various economic activities across numerous sectors and fields.
During the meeting, updates on the restructuring of several public-sector companies were reviewed. This included monitoring performance indicators and reform and development plans within these companies, as well as identifying promising investment opportunities.
