The Arab Republic of Egypt is closely monitoring the latest developments in the sisterly Republic of Niger, expressing its full solidarity with the Nigerien people and reaffirming its steadfast support for the country’s security, safety and stability.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Sunday, Egypt stressed the importance of preserving Niger’s state institutions, national unity and territorial integrity, underscoring the need to safeguard the country’s stability and the interests of its people amid the current circumstances.
It also affirmed its continued support for the Nigerien people and reiterated its readiness to contribute to and support all efforts aimed at promoting security and stability in Niger.
Egypt further emphasised that the security and stability of Niger are closely linked to the wider security of the Sahel region and, consequently, to the peace, security and stability of the African continent.
The state also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting African efforts that contribute to maintaining peace and stability, strengthening state institutions and safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of African countries.
