The Egyptian-Chinese joint air exercise, dubbed “Eagles of Civilisation 2026,” kicked off on Saturday.
The exercise, which will run for several days, involves a number of multi-role fighter aircraft of different types. It is being held at several Egyptian air bases.
Abdelatty, Iran’s Araghchi discuss regional stability, navigation safety

Abdelatty made the remarks during a phone call on Saturday with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss the latest regional developments and efforts to create conditions conducive to de-escalation and a return to the diplomatic track.
Putin: Ukraine opens ‘Pandora’s box’ with strikes on economic targets
Russian President Vladimir Putin said in comments published on Saturday that Kyiv had opened “Pandora’s box” with its strikes on Russian economic targets, saying that Russia would hit back at Ukraine’s “most sensitive economic sectors”.
Ukraine has this summer escalated a campaign of drone strikes targeting Russian economic infrastructure, including oil refineries and online retailers’ warehouses, seeking to destroy infrastructure it says is central to Russia’s war effort.
2 US tanker aircraft leave Bulgaria after Iran row
Two US tanker aircraft have left Bulgaria’s Bezmer air base, Bulgaria’s defence minister said on Saturday, nearly a month after their deployment in the Balkan country angered Iran.
The United States, which has been at war with Iran since February 28, requested their temporary deployment under an agreement governing the joint use of military facilities.
